From a stereo field-recording made at Malieveld in Den Haag in September 2008. As a way of depersonalizing the piece, I decided to remove my voice from the recording by simply cutting it out. The cuts were done chronologically and no subsequent attempts were made to repair the continuity. The resulting effect is kind of like a series of pasted together snapshots, which reinforces rather than erases the perspective of the recordist in relation to the environment. The fact that the environment is also saturated with loud music tends to draw attention to the cuts as well.
